Twisted Metal is claimed to be among the longest running PlayStation exclusive series offerings that has also garnered quite a fan-following during its life-span of seven chapters. The vehicular combat franchise is now extending with a new installment for both fans as well as new comers. Just last week, we reported that Twisted Metal is slated to arrive on the PS3 console this October. For quite some time prior to the game revelations, there were loads of rumors doing their rounds around the terrain on the next chapter.
Besides disclosing a handful of details last week, the official PlayStation blog now entices gamers with a new extended trailer of Twisted Metal and the ability to gain access to Axel. Players will be able to unlock the death-dealing war vehicle with a pair of giant wheels. They can do so by simply pre-ordering Twisted Metal from any of the participating retailers. Furthermore, an exciting extended trailer is also revealed on the blog which takes players through the new ‘Twisted’ universe.
Twisted Metal enables gamers to take to the ravaged streets and play as either the Clowns, the Preachers, the Skulls or the Dolls. There are various new vehicles to take advantage of such as a speeding hearse, helicopter or ice-cream van that can be transformed into a robot. The upcoming title offers offline single player mode and split-screen action for up to four players.
Developed by Eat Sleep Play, Twisted Metal is scheduled to release onto the PS3 on October 4, 2011.
