The whirlpool of retro games unleashed in the second half of last year doesn’t seem to die out. Back in November, Atari announced the revival of its classics for the current breed of gamers by reimagining titles such as Yars’ Revenge. The game has finally zoomed into the domain via the XBLA for the Xbox 360.
Originally released in 1981 on the Atari 2600, the game follows the story a nameless Yar brainwashed by the evil Qotile Empire for executing dangerous missions. While on a quest, the character faces terrible consequences before being rescued by Bar Yargler. By donning the garb of this Yar, gamers will have to destroy the brutish kingdom through vicious aerial attacks for the treatment meted out to their character.
Blending together artistic imagery with animated strokes, Yars’ Revenge has been developed for unfolding an arcade shooting experience. With an interesting storyline, the title offers immersive gameplay by assimilating the past with a twist of the present. Featuring local co-op gameplay and intense battles, it has been designed with visually appealing landscapes and refined reimagined backgrounds.
The XBLA is now offering Yars’ Revenge at the price of 8.99 Euro (approx. Rs. 573), 7.19 GBP (approx. Rs. 519) and 800 points.
