Hitman beta gets a release date, will require constant Internet connection to work

The much awaited release of Hitman is all set to be preceded by a beta that will be arriving later this week. It has also come to light that those who wish to get into the beta will require a constant Internet connection to be able to keep playing it.

Although Square Enix has kept the reason for this a secret, it looks like yet another of its measures to battle piracy. The publisher has confirmed to Video Gamer that the full Hitman game will not come with any such requirement, much to the delight of fans awaiting the title.

As for its release date, it will be seen arriving for the PS4 on February 12, which is this Friday. And the PC version will be hitting the scene on February 19. As had been revealed before, there will be no beta version for those who own the Xbox One.

Beta invites will also be granted to those who buy the Collector’s Edition variants of the game from the Square Enix Store. It must be noted that the beta invites will not be provided to you if you pre-order physical copies of the title.
