Quantum Break is not coming to Steam

Much to the relief of Xbox One owners who were unhappy about Quantum Break letting go of its exclusivity to the console, Microsoft has revealed that the game won’t be making its way to Steam. It has been confirmed that it will be made available on Windows 10 as a Windows Store exclusive.

Quantum Break was earlier being advertised as an Xbox On-only offering, but it was only last week that the game was announced for PC. This infuriated some fans to such an extent that they apparently went ahead and cancelled their pre-orders.

Xbox’s Phil Spencer was engaged in a conversation with one such gamer on Twitter which gained a lot of attention. On hearing that the fan had cancelled his Quantum Break pre-order, Spencer argued with, ‘You cancelled a pre-order for a game you want to play because someone else gets to play the game on Windows?’

There’s clearly more to it that that, as the fan pointed out. The most prominent point in the argument of Xbox One owners is that they need to pay in order to play online, and most of them buy 1-year online memberships for as high as $60 (approx Rs 4000).

Moreover, since Quantum Break was first announced during the launch of the console many purchased the system just so they could play the game. Add to that the fact that they chose the Xbox over the PS4 just so they could take advantage of the exclusive games.

Quantum Break is slated to be released on April 5 this year as an action-adventure third-person shooter which will tie-in with a digital live-action series that will be available online.
