Thief release date disclosed

Well there were small reports of the game’s development being in trouble, but the announcement of the Thief release date details has more than confirmed that that the upcoming reboot to the classic series in on the right tracks. It has been revealed that all versions of Thief – PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC – will be out on February 25 next year in North America and on February 28 in Europe and PAL territories.

Along with this announcement, a trailer for the title has also been put forth by its makers. The next-gen game is all set to make an appearance at the Gamescom event which is to take place in Cologne, Germany from August 21 to August 25. Although a gameplay presentation of Thief will be showcased there, it won’t be playable for the general public, unlike other Square Enix offerings like Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD and Deus Ex: The Fall.

Revealed for the first time in March this year, Thief is the fourth game from the immensely popular series, but will be acting as a reboot to it. Under development with the Unreal Engine 3 technology, it will follow the story of well known protagonist, Garrett, and will embrace all the stealth elements that made the earlier Thief games enjoyable, while adding new ones as well. It’s a next-gen title at heat, but will still be launched for current generation platforms.

Like we said, Thief will be released for all its platforms in February next year, on the above mentioned dates.
