Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer details point to big overhaul

Female soldiers, destructible environments and most importantly, dogs, will all form part of the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer experience which was detailed by Activision at a media event yesterday. Along with a video showcasing the fresh changes that will be making their way into the multiplayer mode of the latest Call of Duty game, the company even gave a detailed breakdown of all its new additions, as spotted on CVG.

A fresh mode has been revealed for the multiplayer in Call of Duty: Ghosts. Dubbed Cranked, it speeds up a player’s character after a kill, while a countdown timer ensures that they need to achieve more kills in order for the perk to keep going. If the timer hits zero, the player will explode. Then there’s a Search and Rescue mode in Call of Duty: Ghosts which is identical to Search and Destroy, but the teams here have the ability to revive fallen teammates.

This game’s multiplayer will even allow you to customize a squad of 10 soldiers who will each have their own statistics, equipment and Prestige status. They will be used in the new Squads mode which has found its way into Call of Duty: Ghosts. Four sub-modes will be present in it. Squad vs. Squad has you and your and AI-controlled squad fight it out against another player and their AI squad, whereas Wargame enables you to chose five squad mates for a battle against an all-AI enemy team.

On the other hand, Safeguard acts as a four-player co-op mode with wave-based AI enemies. And lastly, there’s Squad Assault which is a six-player co-op mode pitting players against squads of offline players (controlled by AI). Apart from this, it has been disclosed that Death Streaks will no longer form part of this CoD game, while there will be 20 new Killstreaks. And then there are Dynamic Map Events which are essentially environments that can be altered for your advantage.
