Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Freedom Cry DLC gets dated for release this month

The Freedom Cry DLC for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is all set to be released by Ubisoft later this month. It will be launched for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One come December 17, and will proffer gamers with more than four hours of single-player gameplay. No word is out yet about when it will be launched for PC, and whether or not a Wii U version is on the cards at all. A price for the content hasn’t been revealed as yet.

Freedom Cry will allow you to jump into the shoes of Adewale, main protagonist Edward Kemway’s first mate. It is set years after the events that transpired in the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, and has its focus set on Adewale’s quest for freeing slaves. This information has come via an advertisement spotted in the digital version of the latest Game Informer issue by Videogamer. The DLC will of course be free for those who own the game’s Season Pass.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is set to receive another new DLC named Blackbeard’s Wrath, but official word on when it will be released is still not to be heard. Leaked a while ago, this content will focus only on the multiplayer aspect of the game, and will allow gamers to play as three new character classes called Jaguar, Orchid and Blackbeard, who happens to be a famous pirate from the eighteenth century.

Coming back to the Freedom Cry DLC, like we said, it will be launched for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag on December 17.
