Mid-September is still a long way down the line, and as if to ease out the agony of fans, Rockstar has released a total of 3 GTA V trailers to keep them busy till the release date approaches. The videos each of course focus on the three protagonists who will be playable within the game. We are given a chance to delve deeper into their extraordinary lives, even as some interesting bits about them and the people around them are also given spotlight.
First we have Micheal, a former bank robber who is trying to find happiness in his retired life but is failing at it miserably. His dysfunctional family is also the focus of this video; his spoiled children and a cheating wife seem to be the basis of his frustration. In the trailer, this forty-something guy is explaining his problems to his therapist who thinks, Michael is ‘plainly’ addicted to chaos. And at the end of it all, he’s forced to declare, ‘I think you need a new therapist.’
Franklin is next, and as revealed earlier too, his is a life gangs and guns. Glimpses of San Andreas can definitely be experienced in this video. See if you can spot a Groove Street logo at the 2:00 mark. Police chases with cars and choppers are aplenty. Franklin is portrayed as someone who’s trying to get away from all the things around him.
The last video is dedicated to Trevor Phillips, a drug-dealer who’s characterized by his psychopathic behavior that is highly apparent in the footage which has him smashing someone’s face with a baseball bat, strangling the neck of an old person, jumping off the wing of a running airplane and saying nasty things to Michael’s daughter. And while he’s at doing all this, he also seems to be enjoying it.
Having been revealed for the first time in 2011, the game has seemingly gone through a lot many delays considering that it was earlier expected to launch in 2012. GTA V is now slated to hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17 worldwide, and is available for pre-order currently.
