The announcement of Shank 2 in September last year was received with much excitement by fans, and now the title is all set to be released for PSN, Xbox Live and PC on February 8, 2012. This 2D action brawler has been developed by Klei Entertainment, which is also the studio behind the first game released back in 2010 through the same platforms.
This game will be set in a pulp fiction world and will require players to control the fate of an ex-mobster hitman named Shank. It will apparently include evolved combat, precise controls, smarter enemies, new weapons and more advanced combo techniques. This title will ask gamers to make use of the title character’s dependable armory of handguns, chainsaws, grenades and other weapons in order to protect those close to him.
A new Survival Mode also makes its way into the game, allowing players to team up with their friends, either online or locally, to take on waves of enemies in arcade-style brawls. The first game in this series has received much acclaim for its unique visuals and gameplay. Apart from a single player campaign, this game also comprised a local co-op mode.
The story of Shank involved the protagonist avenging the murder of his pregnant girlfriend which was carried out by people from the same mob that he belonged to. In addition, the narrative from the missions that form a part of the co-op mode act as a prequel to the earlier story.
Shank 2 will be released by EA on February 8, 2012. This game will sell on Xbox Live at 800 Microsoft Points, while its PSN and PC versions will be priced at 7.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 623).
