It looks like fear is all set to grip gamers throughout the season of autumn. Just a few days back, we had revealed that F.E.A.R. 3 would hit the scene around that time and now Konami Digital Entertainment is expected to unleash SAW 2 by fall this year. The game is currently being developed by Zombie Studios.
The title is the sequel to the acclaimed Saw: The Video Game which unveiled last year. In this title, gamers are yet again pulled into Jigsaw’s world which is packed with puzzles, traps and visceral combat. All these captivating elements are wrapped in a new storyline which is noted to occur between the second and third movie. In the upcoming game, players are called upon to further dive into the feelings of the terrified subjects of Jigsaw.
Martin Schneider, European Marketing & PR Director, Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH said, “The original SAW video game gave horror fans and gamers a new outlet to advance their favorite genre, but left them wanting more. SAW 2 will give it to them, but be careful for what you wish for! Our successful partnership with Lionsgate allows us to advance the survival horror genre, giving players the most intense look into the SAW universe ever.”
SAW 2 lets players adorn the role of Michael who is Detective Tapp’s estranged son as he tries to solve the mystery behind his father’s death. As the game slowly unfurls, players must solve puzzles, traverse through the dark and shadowy world of Jigsaw, all the while fending off his evil minions. They then ultimately come face to face with Detective Tapp’s killer himself.
SAW 2 is scheduled to hit stores by autumn 2010 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 gaming systems. The exact pricing and availability details are still a bit hazy.
