F.E.A.R. 3 to Terrify Gamers This Autumn

Fear first instilled terror into the hearts of gamers back in 2005 when the original F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon was unleashed. Early last year also saw the sequel dubbed as F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. Now Warner Bros. Interactive is all set to bring forth a new installment this fall entitled F.E.A.R. 3. The title is fashioned by the developers of the original title, Day 1 Studios as well as Monolith Studios.

“After working closely with Monolith, Day 1 is honored to bring the next iteration of the F.E.A.R. franchise to gamers with key elements of the past games yet providing fresh combat and horror experiences in F.E.A.R. 3. Players can look forward to new features such as divergent co-op, an evolved cover system, and more scares in F.E.A.R. 3,” commented Denny Thorley, Founder and President, Day 1 Studios.

The upcoming game sees the return of Alma as well as her two sons namely Paxton Fettel and Point Man. With this inclusion, players are given a divergent first-person shooter co-op experience along with elements of compelling narrative and intense combat. Point Man is noted to be a genetically enhanced super soldier who first made his appearance in the original F.E.A.R. His brother Paxton Fettel possesses telekinetic power which is the only thing that sustains him.

“Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is evolving the F.E.A.R. brand with top horror, co-op and first person shooter combat in F.E.A.R. 3. Monolith Productions has passed the torch to Day 1 Studios to create a quality, powerful game that stays true to the roots of the F.E.A.R. franchise but takes players to a heightened level of gameplay,” stated Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The horror aspects of F.E.A.R. 3 are expected to be further heightened as renowned horror director John Carpenter and horror comic and script writer Steve Niles have shared their expertise on the same. Carpenter aided in designing the in-game cinematics while Niles co-wrote the script with the development team of the game.
