In March we brought you the news that this Metal Gear Solid collection would be made for Sony’s latest handheld in addition to versions expected for the Xbox 360 and PS3, while the collection’s release date was made known last month by the Japanese developer and publisher. The Vita version features controls designed specifically to complement the console’s capabilities.

“With Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, gamers will be impressed with the updated graphics and the ability to zoom and perform attacks by using just their fingers on the touch screen of the PlayStationVita system,” Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, commented. “It’s an exciting new way to experience the games Metal Gear Solid fans have known and loved for years.”

Both titles that have received a graphical shot in the arm are also infused with Transfarring. This lets players jump back into the hot seat on whichever console they chose, on the spur of the moment. Saved data can be transferred back and forth between Vita and PS3 making this possible.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is now available as a digital download on the PS3 and PS Vita for a suggested retail price of 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,225). The collection will contain Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
