Max Payne 3 Cheaters to be Banished into ‘Cheaters Pool’

Cheaters beware; Rockstar Games has intensified its crackdown on miscreants who’re gaining unfair advantages in the multiplayer portion of Max Payne 3. The developer has announced that those players who’re confirmed to be using wrong methods will be quarantined from all other players, and placed in a ‘Cheaters Pool’ where they would only be able to compete among themselves.

Rockstar has declared that anyone making use of hacked saves, modded games or other techniques to gain an unfair advantage in the game’s multiplayer will be branded as cheaters and transferred to the ‘Cheaters Pool.’ And if the developers decide to pardon any of these miscreants, they will be allowed to play again with the general public. But in case of a second offence, they will be faced with indefinite banishment. Invalid leaderboard entries are being removed by Rockstar Games currently.

“We’re aware that a small minority of players are spoiling the Max Payne 3 multiplayer experience for honest players with cheats and hacks, and while certain issues will be dealt with in forthcoming title updates, today we’d like to make it clear that anyone using these nefarious methods will be dealt with,” read a post on Rockstar Games’ official blog.

All gamers have been encouraged by the developer to report about any players who they think might be cheating. They can submit the details of these players on [email protected]. Necessary information includes the game’s platform, the cheater’s Gamertag/ID, description of the violation and if possible a video or a screenshot of the breach.

Max Payne 3 is available now for purchase on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Read our review of the game to know more about it.
