Civilization 6 trailer and release date out

Out of the blue, Firaxis Games has made a huge announcement in the form of Civilization 6 which has a trailer as well as a release date. This turn-based strategy 4X game is slated to hit Windows, Mac and Linux machines on October 21 this year.

This will be the first numbered Civilization entry in over six years, and is hence expected to offer a great deal of new features. Its designer Ed Beach has said that the visual presentation of this game is inspired from the maps and tools of the Age of Exploration.

A Steam page for Civilization 6 is already live, and has given away some crucial details about it. It has been revealed to feature expansive empires, with each city spanning multiple tiles. Active research for speeding your civilization’s progress will be another new feature, apart from Dynamic Diplomacy.

Apart from single-player content, Civilization 6 will also come with enhanced multiplayer modes. Cooperative as well as competitive modes will be available to jump in for gamers. And most of the new mechanics introduced by the expansions from the previous game in the series will also be present in this new offering.

The Civilization series has been around since the year 1991, when the first title was released for DOS machines. Several new entries and a number of tehir expansions have brought the series into 2016, when its sixth instalment will hit the block, making way for more expansions in the near future.
