Hordes of new plant and zombie types will form part of Plants vs. Zombies 2 according to its maker, PopCap Games. Scheduled to launch on undisclosed platforms in the first half of 2013, this title will act as a sequel to its 2010 predecessor which went on to become one of the most popular games of recent times.
Apart from a number of new features, it will also kick in fresh settings and situations. Developer PopCap Games claims to have designed these new traits to delight the franchise’s ‘tens of millions’ of fans worldwide. As of now, nothing more has been revealed about the title. However, two statements that appear to have been given by in-game characters have been disclosed by the title’s creators.
One of them is from Sonny F. Lower, a representative of the Flora Forever Foundation, and it goes, “There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning. But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!”
The original game in the series was initially released for PC and Mac. However, its eventual popularity prompted the developer to launch it for most of the gaming platforms that are available currently. These include PSN, XBLA, DSiWare, Android, iOS, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry, Bada, PS Vita and even Google Chrome. It has already featured in our lists of the best tower defense games and best Xbox Live Arcade games.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 is still to be completely detailed. For now, we only know that it will be coming out in the first half of 2013. We’ll have more on it when new information is released.
