Tokyo Jungle, the unique survival action game transpiring in a post-apocalyptic human-less Japan that has been infested by animals, has received its release date for the PS3. It is set to go downloadable via PSN in North America on September 25, while its European launch will take place a day later on September 26, 2012.
This game has been developed by PlayStation C.A.M.P in conjunction with Crispy’s, and has players jumping into the shoes of animals that must do anything on their part survive. An on-disc version of Tokyo Jungle was first released in Japan in June this year, but in western territories, it will be distributed digitally by Sony. It only contains single-player offerings.
Dais Kawaguchi, Assistant Producer, SCEA, revealed on the official PlayStation blog, “You may have caught wind of this one-of-a-kind title’s release in Japan or heard whispers of it this past E3, but we’re excited to finally announce that Tokyo Jungle will be coming to PS3 via PSN very shortly — on September 25th, to be exact! Developed by PlayStation C.A.M.P and Crispy’s, Tokyo Jungle is an action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic Japan, where humankind no longer exists and animals must ruthlessly fight for their lives. In this world, there’s just one rule — only the strong survive!”
Two game modes will be available for players to indulge in. One of them is the story mode which will lets them assume the roles of a number of different animals that have their lives intertwined during their struggle to survive in the Tokyo wilderness. This mode will also provide gamers will an insight into the mysterious disappearance of mankind. The second mode in the game is the survival mode which will ask players to hunt, inhabit territories and produce offspring in order to to secure future generations and resist extinction.
Tokyo Jungle is all set to hit PSN for the PS3 on the above mentioned dates. It will be offered on the service at a price of 14.99 USD (approx. Rs. 830).
