Tokyo Jungle, which was released recently only in Japan, will be seen jumping onto PSN in North America and Europe. Described by Sony to be a ”˜wacky’ title, this game has its story take place in a deserted, futuristic Japan which has transformed into a vicious wildlife wasteland following the disappearance of human life.

At the E3, Sony’s vice president of product development and worldwide studios, Scott Rohde informed Joystiq in an interview that the game would certainly be released in NA and EU territories for the PS3 in the near future. It has been developed exclusively for the PS3 by PlayStation C.A.M.P. and Crispy’s, and does not feature any multiplayer components.
“It’ll ship here, it’ll ship everywhere. That game is just wacky, but in a good way, because we like to show that there’s still an art form, and you can still experiment. Is everyone gonna love a game like Tokyo Jungle? Absolutely not, but there’s a whole bunch of people it’s gonna make really happy. Specifically for the fact that it’s so different, and so unexpected. That’s a key part of the culture of Worldwide Studios and how our games are developed,” Scott Rohde told the website.

This game comprises a Story mode which contains missions centered around various animals. A Pomeranian dog and a thoroughbred racehorse will form the main characters of the story, while players will be asked to find out the truth behind mankind’s disappearance. Besides, a Survival Mode would also be packed in, putting gamers in control of an animal that must fight for survival against other animals.
It is still unclear as to when Sony plans to release Tokyo Jungle in North America and Europe. Have a look at the trailer above to know what to expect from this ‘wacky’ game.
