SSX gets a Price Drop, Free Update adds 2 New Modes

Here’s some good news for those who’re thinking of buying SSX as well as for those who already own it: the game has received a price drop, while a free update has been released for it, adding two new modes to its roster. Dubbed 3-2-1-Go! Events and Freeride, these modes are said to bring new multiplayer and single-player experiences to the game.

SSX

Unlike the original asynchronous multiplayer competition the title’s Global Events section, the 3-2-1-Go! Events mode enables players to contend with up to five riders at the same time. The competitions will be based on fast paced Trick it and Race it heats. While in Race Events, the gamer who crosses the finish line first will win, the Trick Events will introduce a countdown timer, and the winner will be the one who posts the highest score and crosses the finish line before the clock hits zero.

Freeride is a single-player mode, and is apparently one of the most requested features from the title’s community. With this mode, gamers can endlessly explore each of the nine massive mountains that have been recreated for the title. And they can do that at their own pace and with their own style. Freeride does not feature any rules, ghosts, clocks, scores or other riders.

This reboot to the classic SSX series had released back in March for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Its story revolves around a team of snowboarders who’re planning to conquer the nine deadliest descents across the world. It can now be purchased at a reduced price of 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,214).
