September 4, 2012, it has been disclosed, will be the release date for Zen Pinball 2 which will be coming out for the PS3 as well as the PS Vita with cross-platform attributes. This game will be doled out as a free download to all those who possess the original game, Marvel Pinball and any of the DLC packs for these titles.
Along with this announcement, also comes the revelation that an all-new table based on one of PopCap Games’ well known titles will be released for the upcoming game at launch. Of course this title has to be one between Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled, Zuma or Peggle, but official confirmation will come only later this month at PAX Prime. At this event, the table will even be playable at the PopCap’s booth. Along with the Zen Pinball sequel, the table will also be released for Pinball FX2 via Xbox Live on September 5, 2012.
The game will come equipped with cross-platform offerings that will enable shared global leaderboards, online friend challenges and tournaments between the PS3 and the PS Vita. At its launch, a total of twenty six tables will be available. Claimed by the developer to comprise the most advanced ball physics simulation till date, the game will let players compete against other players with its new ProScore and TeamScore features. It will be 3D compatible and will even offer local split-screen, hotseat multiplayer, online multiplayer and worldwide tournaments.
As mentioned above, the release date for Zen Pinball 2 has been announced to be September 4, 2012. Its pricing details are still to be revealed.
