Ubisoft Reveals First Details on Shaun White Skateboarding

Ubisoft announced Shaun White Skateboarding in March this year, and now the company has revealed new details for its upcoming action-sports title Shaun White Skateboarding developed with world-renowned skateboarder and snowboarder, Shaun White. The game is scheduled for an autumn 2010 release on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC. Details regarding the Wii version will be revealed at this year’s E3.

“When we started making the game, we knew we wanted to give players a sense of how skaters see the world – everything is an opportunity,” Nick Harper, Creative Director stated. “What looks like a handrail to us is really a grind. A park bench is a place to trick, an alley is a quarter pipe, etc. We’ve taken that idea and expanded it. We wanted to put our own twist on the genre and craft the type of game that allows players to be creative and still have a lot of fun.”

The skateboarding journey begins in a dull, grey city reminiscent of a boring atmosphere spread over massive districts. As you complete challenges, the city slowly comes to life. New areas open up, better skate lines are created and buildings are transformed. You can change the cityscape as you see fit, stretching and twisting handrails, emptying fountains to create bowls, and much more. Creativity gives you points, gear as well as new opportunities.

Shaun White Skateboarding features over 80 skate tricks chosen specifically by Shaun White himself, including an original Shaun White creation called the “Armadillo”.
