Front Mission Evolved coming to North America this September

Front Mission Evolved is the latest in the Front Mission series and now Square Enix has announced an updated launch date for its third person shooter Front Mission Evolved. The game is now set for release on September 14, 2010. Front Mission Evolved has been developed by Double Helix Games and Square Enix and will be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and in stereoscopic 3D for the PC.

“Both Square Enix and Double Helix Games are committed to delivering the ultimate, evolved Front Mission experience,” Ami Blaire, Vice President, Marketing of Square Enix commented. “This installment advances the franchise into the third-person shooter genre, and come fall, fans will be blown away by the high-octane action that Front Mission Evolved offers.”

The game is said to cover new ground in the franchise merging elements of a third person shooter with the distinct Front Mission universe. Front Mission Evolved is set in a world of destruction and conspiracy, and casts players as Dylan Ramsey who takes on the helms of a giant, customizable, bipedal tank called a wanzer.

Wanzers can be customised with weapons on both hands and shoulders in the game, as players battle in a world on the brink of total war. Featured in the game are huge metropolises more than 150 years in the future. Front Mission Evolved has a single player campaign as well as four different multiplayer modes to immerse players in heart-pounding combat.

Front Mission Evolved will be available at North American retail for a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,815) for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and for 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,345) for the PC. The game will also be made available via online retailers including Steam for the PC.
