EA Sports MMA gets Randy Couture to co-headline

EA Sports stirred up some enthusiasm with the announcement of its mixed martial arts title. Recently the publisher selected Fedor Emelianenko to headline the MMA title. Now Electronic Arts has announced that one of the most popular fighters in MMA history, Randy Couture will co-headline the upcoming EA Sports MMA along with Emelianenko.

“I have been a part of MMA for over 10 years and I am excited about the global visibility that a game like EA Sports MMA will bring to the sport,” Randy Couture remarked. “Like my fighting career, I look forward to taking on all comers in EA Sports MMA.”

Randy Couture, the six foot one inch, 220 pound heavyweight, who has already featured in EA’s Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 as Commander Warren Fuller, is a living legend in the MMA world. He is to fight against former Pride World Heavyweight Champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira towards the end of this month. Couture holds a 16-9 record and is a five time MMA champion.

EA Sports MMA is set to deliver the most authentic and intense mixed martial arts experience to date, with a wide range of fighters and styles featured in the game. EA Sports MMA will be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms, while prices are not known.
