EA had earlier announced a new mixed martial arts (MMA) game. Now, the well-known publisher has revealed that the world’s top ranked MMA heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko will headline the EA Sports MMA fighter roster. Eminent fighters such as Renato Sobral and Gegard Mousasi will also join him in the upcoming fighting game.
“I have fought all over the world and I am excited to be in EA Sports MMA because this game is going to show the global appeal of mixed martial arts. I know MMA fans have been wanting to play as me and pitting me against any opponent. Now they will have their opportunity,” stated Emelianenko.
The 6 foot tall Russian heavyweight mixed martial arts fighter weighs in at a staggering 231 pounds and is well acquainted with the Sambo and Judo fight styles. The current WAMMA Heavyweight champion holds an amazing career record of 30-1. Gegard Mousasi is a former Dream Middleweight champion and weighs in at 185 pounds. The 6 foot one inch Dutch-Armenian fighter uses a combination of Dutch kickboxing and judo to pulverize his opponents.
The aggressive fighter, Renato Sobral has an impressive career record of 35-8. The Brazilian powerhouse is known for his unrelenting grappling moves and powerful submissions. MMA fans will be in for quite a treat when Sobral faces off against Gegard Mousasi in an upcoming Strikeforce’s Light Heavyweight championship match-up.

EA Sports MMA is developed by EA Tiburon and is expected to be out on the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms in 2010. The action packed game will feature several top fighters and fighting styles providing fans with a unique MMA experience. Exact details about the prices are yet to be released by company officials.
