NBA 2K8 Soundtrack Revealed by 2K Sports

These days it has become very important to have great songs in a video game. Now 2K Sports has revealed that NBA 2K8 will include original and exclusive tracks from the late legendary producer J Dilla (aka Jay Dee) with Common, Q-Tip, Talib Kweli and Madlib providing vocals.

NBA 2K8 soundtrack features songs that have roots of hip-hop, as well as an eclectic mix of songs from other genres that complement the virtual hoops action.

In addition to showcasing some of J Dilla’s finest and unreleased cuts with marquee artists like Common, Talib Kweli and Q-Tip, we have included a diverse group of artists whose music really captures the spirit of the game.”

Q-Tip says, “J Dilla was one of the industry’s greatest talents. This recording is reflective of his legacy and of the wonderful body of work that he left behind.”

NBA 2K8 is being developed by Visual Concepts and is expected to release next month for the PS2, PS3 and the Xbox 360. Just some time ago, 2K Sports had sent word that Chris Paul would be on the cover of the game.
