Besides the NBA Live series by EA, the other decent video game title for basketball is the NBA 2K series by 2K Sports. Take-Two Interactive Software has sent word that the 2006 NBA Rookie of the Year will be cover athlete and official spokesman for NBA 2K8.
Chris Paul says, “It’s a great honor to be a part of the best NBA video game title, let alone the guy on the cover. I’m a big time video gamer and it’s a dream come true to be on the cover and represent the next NBA 2K game, NBA 2K8.”
Greg Thomas, President, Visual Concepts, 2K Sports studio comments, “Our success with our NBA 2K series has been greatly due to our philosophy for innovation and our ability to introduce new and unique features every year. There’s a lot of expectation for NBA 2K8 and it was only natural to select Chris Paul, one of the most exciting rising NBA stars, to represent it.”
NBA 2K8 is being developed by Visual Concepts and is expected to release for the PS2, PS3 and the Xbox 360 later this year. Basketballs fans will be delighted to see Chris Paul who is the starting point guard of New Orleans Hornets. He is also known as CP3 because of his initials and the jersey numbers that he wears.
