Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Steals a PS Vita Port

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time coming to the PS3 was big news when it was formally announced last year, but with just months to go for its release, Sanzaru Games has treated fans with the confirmation of a PS Vita port as well. Slated to release for both the consoles on the same day, this upcoming title will come equipped with cross-save compatibility for both the devices.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time 1

For Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Sucker Punch has handed over the development duties to Sanzaru Games, the studio which also refurbished The Sly Trilogy for the PS3. Just like in the MGS HD Collection, this game too will incorporate the cross-save feature for saving data between the PS Vita and the PS3. The cloud-based saving will enable gamers to play either at their homes or on the go, and pick up from where they left off.

“Ever since we revealed the game, fans have been asking me about PS Vita, arguing that Sly would be a great game to take on the go. I completely agree…and I can now confirm that Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be shipping this fall on BOTH the PS3 and the PS Vita, on the same day,” wrote Glen Egan, President, Sanzaru Games, on the official PlayStation blog.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time 2

It has been confirmed by the developer that the Vita version will kick in support for the handheld’s front and rear touchscreens, its gyro controls as well as dual-analog sticks. This new game in the much loved series continues from where Sly 3 ended, and has the protagonist rejoin the Cooper Gang on their time-traveling adventure to bring back his family’s legacy.

Both the PS3 and PS Vita versions of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be released simultaneously, but the title is still to receive an official launch date.
