PS Plus coming to PS Vita in November with its own Instant Game Collection

Official confirmation has come from Sony that the PS Plus premium membership service will be made available for PS Vita owners this November, although no concrete date has been specified. The most interesting fact about this new announcement is that those who already possess Plus subscriptions for their PS3s will automatically be able to grab memberships on their Vitas.

The Instant Game Collection will be accessible to them with a regularly updated selection of the free games. Moreover, discounts on games and DLC packs will also be doled out. 1GB of online game storage for game saves of Vita titles and other downloaded content will be available, while the automatic updates feature of the PS Plus service will enable the PS Vita to start automatically at a designated time to download and install stuff on its memory.

“If you don’t yet own a PS Vita, there has never been a better time to invest in the most powerful portable entertainment system. In addition to the Instant Game Collection you will be able to tap into through PlayStation Plus, PS Vita also has an arsenal of great and innovative games, like the recent hit Sound Shapes, not to mention some of the hottest upcoming titles like Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita,” shared Brandon Stander, Director of Marketing, PlayStation Network.

This announcement took place at the Tokyo Game Show which is currently being held in Japan. Another huge announcement from the expo was that of the new super slim model of the PS3 which is set to hit stores later this month. We just revealed the complete price and release date information for this hardware in our earlier post.

The PS Plus service for the PS Vita will go live in November, and more details regarding the same will be disclosed later on.
