New Sony PSP E-1000 Announced, Priced at 99.99 Euros

Sony has sure found enough time to introduce the new Sony PSP E-1000. While all the spot light is focused unremittingly on the next generation PlayStation Vita and the features it has in store for buyers, it seemed highly unlikely that its earlier generation would get a new version. Apparently aimed at providing gamers with an affordable option, the company has declared on the PlayStation blog that the device will be priced at 99.99 Euros. This new handheld is styled with a charcoal black finish which is identical to that on the PS3 Slim.

However, this model will not be equipped with Wi-Fi which means no multiplayer gaming for its buyers. Users will be able to manage their access to the PS Store through Media Go. Apart from that, they can use customary UMDs in order to enjoy games on the devices. Sony has also announced a range of budget UMDs, priced at 9.99 Euros each which will be released alongside the device. These include Invizimals: The Lost Tribe, EyePet Adventures, FIFA 12 and more.

Earlier yesterday, Sony had also announced that its PS Vita will provide users with access to social networking. Websites like Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Skype will be reachable through the handheld. Users would only need to download the apps for free through the PS Store and then make use of the device’s Wi-Fi/3G capabilities to exploit them. Big titles including the likes of Assassin’s Creed and FIFA have also been confirmed for the PS Vita.

Release dates of the new Sony PSP E-1000 are yet to be revealed but it has been confirmed that the device will retail for 99.99 Euros (approx Rs. 6,517).
