Just recently we had reported the speculation of a new Sony device in the making due to a job post on Sony’s Japan website. Now more rumors have surfaced surrounding Sony and their products. Is it just a way to take focus off the Nintendo DSi and hope people will wait for their new product? Who knows!
VG247 is reporting that a very trusted but anonymous source from within Sony has revealed more details on Sony’s developments. Apparently the new gadget will not be a PSP2 but will merely be a superficial alteration to the PSP leaving the hardware and internal architecture nearly untouched.
To keep size minimal, the rumor suggests that the new PSP, apparently dubbed the PSP-4000, will have a sliding front screen something similar to the image that has been circulating amongst various news sites. In this rumor installment, there hasn’t been any mention of the touch-screen that was rumored about a month ago. Plausibly a mention of the PSP-4000 can be expected at this year’s GDC or the E3.
