Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii Coming in August from Nintendo

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the third and final game in the Metroid Prime trilogy. The game was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2007. The first two games in the trilogy were released for the Nintendo GameCube console. Now Nintendo announces that ‘Metroid Prime Trilogy’, a three game pack, with the first two games remade for the Wii, will be released in August. The premium collection will be exclusively for the Nintendo Wii.

“Metroid Prime Trilogy puts the best first-person adventures all in one place, with a host of new additions that make these three timeless titles more engaging than ever,” Executive VP of Sales & Marketing at Nintendo of America, Cammie Dunaway explained. “A great deal of care and detail has gone into Metroid Prime Trilogy, providing longtime fans with new ways to experience the games they love.”

Each game in the trilogy retains its original story, with Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes getting intuitive Wii controls. All the three games will be shipped on a single disc and will feature various new unlockables with which players can access in-game rewards like artwork.

Metroid Prime Trilogy has been developed by Retro Studios and Nintendo and will be available on August 24, 2009 for a price of 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,340).
