The PlayStation VR headset from Sony has been in the pipeline since last year, and it has now been granted its release information finally. Although we don’t have a proper release date to look forward to, what we do know is that it will be coming sometime this October.
As for the price, this virtual reality apparatus will demand a good $400 (approx. Rs 27000) if you wish to buy it. Sony had earlier said that it was aiming to launch PlayStation VR in the first half of this year, but that plan has now changed. That’s because the company wants more games to be ready, and also wishes to ensure that enough units are ready to be sold at launch.
The PlayStation VR is a headset that allows you to jump into virtual reality games via your PS4 console. You can either use a DualShock 4 controller or a PS Move controller to play these titles. It must be noted that the PS Eye accessory which was released alongside the PS4 is necessary in order for the headset to work. It has to be bought separately, in case you’re wondering.
Sony has predicted that by the end of this year, over 50 virtual reality games will be available for PlayStation VR owners to jump into. That’s because more than 230 developers – big and small – are involved in creating content for it at the moment.

PlayStation VR has already been made available for pre-order by various retailers for those who just can’t wait until October to book their units. Let us now wait and watch when Sony decides to reveal the official release date for the device.
