With an aim of perhaps enticing gamers to buy the following episodes, the first episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 has been made free by Capcom. One of the most underrated video games of 2015, this title is part of a spin-off series that was released earlier this year.
The first episode of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is called Penal Colony, and can be grabbed now for free by owners of the PS3, the Xbox 360, the PS4 and the Xbox One. Although the game is also available on PC, this edition has not been been made available for free.
The much loved game was launched in an episodic fashion earlier this year, with each chapter costing around 6 USD (approx Rs 350). Penal Colony was followed by equally enjoyable episodes called Contemplation, Judgment and Metamorphosis.
If you’re interested in trying out Resident Evil: Revelations 2, you should know that Penal Code explores the story of series veteran Claire Redfield and new character Moira Burton who are kidnapped and have woken up in a cell. They are located on a remote island which is infested with horrifying creatures.
As Eurogamer’s review puts it, this title lets go of the action elements which recent Resident Evil games have been adopting and instead presents a marriage between the series’ classic survival horror offerings and plenty of other innovative traits. Apart from the campaign, it also includes a Raid Mode which has players shooting down waves of enemies to grab a little arcade experience.

Like we said, the first episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 is available for download now on all the consoles it has been released for so far.
