Upcoming PS4 entry, The Order: 1886 has jumped out of its shroud, and has been showcased by developer Ready At Dawn Studios in a clearer manner. This much talked about E3-debutant has received a trailer as well as a gameplay video, and details regarding its story and universe have also been laid out in the open. The Order: 1886 will revolve around an alternate human history set in a Neo-Victorian London. It is based on a centuries-old conflict between mankind and half-breeds, and the catalyst that’s added to this formula by the advent of the Industrial Revolution which results in the development of new weapons and other technologies. The player character is part of The Order comprising of Knights who are sworn to protect humanity from the half-breeds. But that’s not all; the people of London too are in an armed rebellion against the Monarchy for what they perceive to be oppression, according to a post on the PlayStation blog.
A cover-based third-person shooter, The Order: 1886 has been aimed by its makers at providing a cinematic experience even during gameplay. As can be spotted in the gameplay video, the CG visuals seem no different from the gameplay, and this is an amazing feat made possible by the PS4’s hardware. Unique weapons and quick-time events form part of this game as well.
The Order: 1886 still remains without a proper release date, but it is apparently slated to arrive for the PS4 sometime later this year.
