PlayStation Now could charge 4.99 USD or 5.99 USD per game rental

PlayStation Now is in its infant stages currently, with a closed beta being the only way to access it. But a leak of sorts has apparently managed to divulge important details regarding the service. It is being said that about 4.99 USD (approx. Rs 300) or 5.99 USD (approx. Rs 360) is what it will be charging gamers who wish to stream PS3 games on their PS4s, PS Vitas, Bravia TVs and even smartphones and tablets.

VG247 spotted an image on the official Gaikai website which has given away this new piece of information. As can be seen in the snapshot, all titles which will be available for streaming on other devices will feature little blue PlayStation Now triangles beside their names. The image lists Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and Far Cry 3 at the above mentioned prices. The Last of Us on the other hand has its price set at 49.99 USD (approx. Rs 3,035) but it doesn’t have the blue triangle next to its name which indicates that it’s not available for streaming.

Even if we consider 4.99 USD or 5.99 USD to be the actual final prices of streaming PS3 games on other devices, a big question still remains unanswered. What is the duration for which you’ll be allowed access to them? Sony has remained mum on details such as this ever since it announced PlayStation Now earlier in 2014. The service is currently in closed beta, and will be launched later this year in North America, while its European release won’t take place until 2015.

We’ll have more on PlayStation Now as soon as additional details are out.
