Gone Home headed to consoles

2013’s indie hit Gone Home will be extending its reach this year by making its way onto consoles. However, it’s not clear as to which systems it will be landing on. This PC, Mac and Linux title was released in August last year, and had impressed gamers and critics alike with its first-person gameplay that is focused on adventure elements and a strong narrative experience.

Developed by The Fullbright Company, Gone Home will be brought to consoles by Midnight City which happens to be Majesco Entertainment’s indie publishing department. Upon being asked to specify the consoles to which the game will be ported, the company replied with ‘we’ll be sure to let everyone know when we can.’

This game tells the story of a woman who arrives home after a year of living abroad. To her surprise, the house which was supposed to have people greet her is empty. This propels her to investigate and find out what exactly transpired in the house and where all the people have gone.

Gone Home is described by its makers as an interactive exploration simulator. You are required to interrogate the details of the house in order to discover the story of the people who live there. it includes neither combat nor puzzles. It’s an adventure game with fully interactive environments.

While details about the console version of Gone Home are still slim, those interested can buy it for PC, Mac or Linux through Steam.
