Final Fantasy XIII-2, Soulcalibur V Highlight This Week’s PS3 Releases

Both Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Soulcalibur V are finally on the brink of getting released this week for the PS3, along with a new game titled NeverDead. On the PSN side, demos of two much awaited games, Twisted Metal and Syndicate, are all set to go live tomorrow and moreover, a total of five PS3 full games will also be launched through the service.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII-2 transpires three years after the previous title and involves some survivors of the events in the last game, trying to rebuild Gran Pulse. But on realizing that Lightning is nowhere to be found, Serah and a mysterious man named Noel are forced to embark on a quest so as to locate her. The immensely anticipated Soulcalibur V would also be released this week for consoles. Along with a story that takes place 17 years after the last game, this title will include Ezio Auditore as a playable character.

Soulcalibur V

The new game dubbed NeverDead is described as a third-person action offering set in a fantasy and horror-influenced universe. It also comprises online co-op and competitive ‘Challenges’ for up to 4 players. Furthermore, PSN will get updated with quite some new content this week. To start with, there are the free demos of Twisted Metal and Syndicate, while other titles that will be launched as PS3 full game downloads include Madden NFL 12, Puddle, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men and Mini Ninjas. Moreover, a PSP full download would also make its way to PSN this week in the form of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact.

Final Fantasy XIII-2, Soulcalibur V and NeverDead will be outed for retail tomorrow, while all the other content is expected to come out through the upcoming PS Store update.
