The Starhawk beta has ended and now, as the game gears up for its May 8 release, news has come out that all the players who partook in its beta will be rewarded with exclusive in-game goodies. Two such items will be offered, one for the game’s beta testers, and the other one for all those who’ve played Warhawk as well as participated in the beta.
The first in-game content which will be doled out to these gamers is called The Hand of the Founder. It’s actually a gold, glowing accessory that will be bonded to the right hands of the characters. This item is intended to be a way to flaunt among friends the fact that they were one of the game’s founders. The second item to be included within the title is the Warhawk Paint Set which comprises two exclusive vehicle paint schemes to be used to customize any vehicle within the game. This however, is only available to beta testers who also have Warhawk saved files on their PS3s.
Dylan Jobe, President, LightBox Interactive, wrote on the official PlayStation blog, “Starhawk is not your normal off-the-shelf shooter. We’ve certainly taken some chances with this game, but it’s gonna be worth it: The Build & Battle system alters the traditional shooter recipe in such a way that when you play other shooters you may find yourself frustrated that you can’t build bunkers, walls, outposts, and all the other stuff that Starhawk lets you build. So if you’re a shooter fan looking for a change of pace, definitely pick up Starhawk!”
Starhawk is all set to release exclusively for the PS3 this month. Apart from a single-player mode – the details of which were revealed recently – this game will also consist of multiplayer gameplay, a glimpse of which was provided by the title’s beta. Just like its predecessor Warhawk, this game too will feature split-screen co-op. It will make use of the dual login trait to sign in two players on a single PS3 system.
Starhawk will be released for the PS3 on May 8, 2012. It can be pre-ordered currently at a price of 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,150).
