In a move which seems to be a promotion tactic for Sony’s PlayStation 3D Display, the company is offering a pre-order bundle that will include a copy of the Resistance 3 on Blu-ray for U.S. users. This pre-order bundle includes the 24-inch 3D Display, one pair of universal PlayStation 3D glasses, MotorStorm Apocalypse on Blu-ray, and an HDMI cable. It was announced on the PlayStation blog that this bundle will be available only till September 30, 2011.
The 3D Display was initially supposed to be bundled with Resistance 3, but it was later replaced by MotorStorm Apocalypse. The 24-inch LED 3D Display is equipped with Sony’s SimulView technology that lets players experience individual full HD screens even when in two-player mode. This eliminates the need for split-screen. The TV features a refresh rate of 240Hz.
“With the 3D Display pre-order offer and so many amazing titles coming to PS3 in 3D this holiday, like Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, The ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, and more, now is the time to jump into 3D gaming,” Kim Nguyen, Marketing Manager, PlayStation 3, commented on the blog.
The display also kicks in 3 HD inputs including 2 HDMI ports and 1 component port. Built-in speakers and a subwoofer are also present on this TV. Apart from the PS3 console, it can be connected to PCs or cable TV boxes. The glasses which are offered along with it contain rechargeable batteries and can be used with other active shutter-type 3D TVs.
The Sony PlayStation 3D Display bundle which is offering a copy of Resistance 3 can be pre-ordered currently in the U.S. at a price of 499.99 USD (approx Rs. 23,027). The display is slated to release this November.
