As the company explains on its official help page, there was apparently some misunderstanding with respect to both these titles. To make amends with the game’s fans, EA is unleashing Battlefield 1943 absolutely free of charge for owners of the PS3 version of Battlefield 3.
The company has divulged the various dates for which players can get their hands on the offering. For Battlefield 3 players situated in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, EA has already released the codes today itself, while those strewn across America can acquire the same starting December 10, 2011. Furthermore, gamers who possess the PS3 version of the Battlefield title in Asia can expect to get their Battlefield 1943 vouchers on December 17, 2011.
The former two gamer segments can download the free title from the PlayStation Network Sony Europe and Sony America. The company is set to release the game out for the latter on PlayStation Network Sony Asia and Sony Japan. In order to download their respective copies, players must utilize their included vouchers to activate their Battlefield 3 online pass for the PS3.
They can then log in with their Origin ID and password, on or after the respective dates. Only after opting for their territory, will they be able to receive a PS3 voucher for Battlefield 1943. Thereafter, players have to feed the codes into the PlayStation Store and follow the given steps.
