Battlefield 3 Highlights Today’s PS3 Releases

The day which all first person shooter fans were yearning for is finally here, as Battlefield 3 is ready for launch today for the PS3 along with Xbox 360 and PC. According to a post on the PlayStation blog, other big releases for Sony’s console include The House of Dead: Overkill, Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi, inFamous: Festival of Blood and more.

Battlefield 3 is one of this year’s most anticipated games owing to the popularity of the series and the media hype which has been surrounding it ever since it was announced. It releases today in North America, while it will be launched across other territories in coming days. The House of Dead: Overkill was outed in 2009 for the Wii and it will now be made available for the PS3 with support for PS Move and 3D.

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi also this markets today, to provide gamers with ‘earth-shaking’ combat, a ‘massive’ character selection, ‘faithful’ manga-style graphics. Furthermore, Disney Universe too launches for the PS3, allowing players to select from more than 40 classic and contemporary Disney character costumes and to explore six different worlds inspired by Disney and Disney Pixar films.

Three more titles – Puss in Boots, Grease Dance and Just Dance Kids 2, will be released for retail today with PS Move support. While the first one is based on the upcoming movie by the same name, the other two are music based dancing and singing games.

Moreover, the list of digital downloads that will make their way through today’s PS Store update includes inFamous: Festival of Blood which is a standalone title that will be offered with Move compatibility. Call of Duty: Black Ops and Homefront also make their debuts on PSN alongside MX vs ATV: Alive, Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone and Daytona USA. Demo versions of Resistance 3, Grease, Sonic Generations, Elevator Action Deluxe and Akimi Village would be made available for the PS3.

With so many titles including Battlefield 3 being launched for the PS3 today, and with so many massive titles lined up for release in the coming weeks, developers just aren’t giving gamers even one chance to complain about the dearth of quality games in the market.
