PS3 Gamers Set for Call of Duty: Black Ops Double XP Weekend

Earlier this month, Treyarch and Activision celebrated the registration of 10 million fans on Black Ops’ Facebook page by rolling out a double XP weekend for gamers. As enthusiasts garnered maximum XPs across the Xbox 360 and PC, some PS3 gamers expressed their resentment since they were barred from entering the event owing to the PSN issues.

Wiping out disappointments from its slate, Sony appears in a mood to make up for the lost opportunity. A post on the official PlayStation blog has reported that Treyarch is now hosting an exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops double XP weekend for PS3 gamers. Kicked off yesterday, the XP weekend will be stretched until the upcoming Tuesday for allowing PS3 players to get even with their Xbox 360 and PC counterparts.

To boost this battle further, the company has included a Nuketown 24/7 playlist into the event. This small but chaotic map is touted to result in high kill counts, enabling enthusiasts to reach the next Prestige level at double the usual speed. So pull up those sleeves and strike out enemies across the Cold War timeline while bagging double XPs and unraveling Nuketown’s ghastly secrets.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops double XP weekend is now in progress and will continue until May 24, 2011 for PS3 gamers.
