Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Beta Opens Up to All PSN Users

Ubisoft has announced on the PlayStation blog that the Assassin’s Creed: Revelations beta which was earlier available only to PS Plus members will now be accessible to all PSN users. This beta is scheduled to last only till September 11, 2011 and will go live today at 10:00 am (PST).

The beta allows gamers to select their characters from a total of nine options which are all unlocked at the outset. These include The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster and The Champion. Furthermore, three maps – Knight’s Hospital, Antioch and Constantinople, are on offer for gamers to dive into.

This multiplayer beta comprises of four game modes, two of which has been designed with ‘response to player feedback.’ Deathmatch and Artifact Assault are names of the two new modes. Wanted and Manhunt are the other two that were also a part of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Gamers will be equipped with eight abilities. Only some of them will be available from the start while other can be unlocked through progress. Two new abilities, Tripwire Bomb and Closure have been added to the game. Apart from these, players can perform Disguise, Fire Crackers, Throwing Knives, Smoke Bomb, Poison and Morph.

Other features that are offered by the beta consist of character customization options, leaderboards, challenges, ability sets and a level cap of 30. A fresh Playlist trait enables gamers to get into the gametype of their choice ‘as quickly as possible.’

The Assassin’s Creed: Revelations beta will be playable to all PSN users from 10:00 am (PST) today. It is slated to end on September 11, 2011.

Update: Instead of stopping the beta on September 11, 2011, Ubisoft has decided to continue it till September 17.
