Leaked Photos Reveal Circle Pad Attachment for Nintendo 3DS

Many rumors were making rounds lately about a new circle pad attachment for the Nintendo 3DS. And it looks like they all might turn out to be true as some supposed leaked pictures of the peripheral have appeared in an issue of Famitsu. Apart from this circle pad attachment for the Nintendo 3DS, the article also reports about Monster Hunter 3G which will soon be released for the device.

Circle Pad Attachment For Nintendo 3DS

As seen in the picture, this peripheral attaches itself to the 3DS in such a way that the circle pad is placed right next to the A/B/X/Y buttons. This providing the device with dual-analog capabilities. Moreover, it is also touted to possess a set of R1, R2 and L1 (no L2) buttons at its back. Towards the front, there seems to be a gap which would enable gamers to make use of the device’s headphone jack without any hassles.

If a report by Andriasang is to be cited, this peripheral will be called, ‘Expansion Slide Pad’ in Japan. Famitsu also revealed that Monster Hunter 3G, a port of last year’s Wii title Monster Hunter Tri would be released for the 3DS later this year. This game will apparently feature 12 weapon types and underwater fighting which was seen on the Wii version. Possibilities of the game being bundled with the peripheral cannot be ruled out.

Both the circle pad attachment for the Nintendo 3DS as well as Monster Hunter 3G are expected to be unveiled at this month’s Tokyo Game Show, but for now the images are all we have to cool our heels upon.
