Assassin’s Creed Revelations Beta to Launch on September 3 for PS3

The wait is finally over for fans of a certain hugely popular franchise as Ubisoft has announced on the PlayStation blog that PS Plus subscribers would get a chance to jump into the Assassin’s Creed Revelations beta from September 3, 2011. A total of nine characters will be available for players to choose from along with three maps and four modes. Two new abilities are also set to feature in the game.

All the nine characters share analogous behavior. At the same time, their ability sets are customizable. The list of playables includes The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster and The Champion.

“Three maps are available in the Beta and are all unlocked from the outset. Be sure to pay attention to their layouts in-game as these maps have been tuned to allow more strategy than those in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood (it’s easier to break line-of-sight, for example),” explained, Gabriel Graziani, Community Developer, Ubisoft, on the blog.

The three maps offered in the beta are named Knight’s Hospital, Antioch and Constantinople. Four modes including two new ones, designed with ‘response to player feedback,’ make their way into the beta. Wanted and Manhunt maintain themselves from Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, while Deathmatch and Artifact Assault are the new modes.

Out of the eight player abilities, only some will be available from the outset. Others must be unlocked as the game progresses. Tripwire Bomb and Closure are two new abilities which gamers can perform apart from Disguise, Fire Crackers, Throwing Knives, Smoke Bomb, Poison and Morph.
