PS3 Global Sales to Top 11 Million: Sony

Sony PS3 Lots of things have been said about the numbers related to sales of next generation consoles. The PS3, which was supposed to do the best in the next generation consoles war hasn’t given out favorable numbers to Sony. According to Yahoo News, Sony’s Kazuo Hirai has mentioned that the global sales of the PS3 are expected to reach 11 million by the end of this fiscal year.

Kazuo Hirai is the president and chief operating officer of Sony Computer Entertainment. He commented, “The PlayStation3 is starting afresh as a console to play games with. Even though pricing strategy is important, now we would like to put our strength in the number of software games.”

Hirai also mentioned that he wants to see the game division at Sony ‘escape as soon as possible from the red and return to the black in fiscal year 2008’. Previously, Hirai has made some bold predictions for the PS3. Earlier this year, he claimed that there would be 380 games for the PS3 by March 2008.
