Ace Combat Assault Horizon to be Unleashed this October

The tumultuous combat across the gaming sky is set to display yet another blistering spark of fireworks as Namco Bandai gears up with its next title. Announced back in August 2010, Ace Combat Assault Horizon has been scheduled to reach North America and Europe in October this year.

This new installment has been touted to breathe a fresh lease of life in the Ace Combat series with its in-air acrobatics, counter-maneuvers and the show of devastating effects. Based on a story by Jim DeFelice, the plot of the title transforms gamers into a top gun pilot working for an international task force.

“Ace Combat is a beloved franchise and we’re excited to take the series into a whole new direction with more visceral and fast-paced action,” remarked Kazutoki Kono, Producer and Executive Director at Namco Bandai Games. “Players around the world will find an adventure that will keep them glued to the edge of their seat. They’ll feel their adrenaline pumping with every bullet, every explosion and every near-miss escape.”

The war drama is said to pit them against close-range assault systems as dogfights turn intense miles above the sea level. Players can soar high in the sky across Dubai and Russia while flying super-sonic jets, attack helicopters and other aircrafts. They will also have the choice to dodge skyscrapers and launch heavy assaults through both single player and multiplayer modes.

Heading to North America for an October 22, 2011 release, Ace Combat Assault Horizon will land in Europe on October 14, 2011.
