Rock Band 3 to Feature 12 Tracks by The Doors

Earlier this week, the Rock Band library struck a new milestone by surpassing an assortment of over 2000 tracks. Basking in the glory of this astonishing feat, Harmonix and MTV Games have revealed that compositions from The Doors will arrive on the platform with the release of the next installment in the series dubbed Rock Band 3.

Gamers can strum their guitars to the tunes of 12 songs created by The Doors which will be released for the new title. ‘Break On Through (To the Other Side)’ by The Doors has been incorporated into the on-disc soundtrack of Rock Band 3 while it will also allure fans in the title’s opening cinematic clip.

Ray Manzarek, Keyboardist for The Doors, remarked, “I’m very excited that keyboards are finally a part of Rock Band. It’s about time you guys got hip to the necessity of keys in rock. This is going to be great for all the gamers, because it’s a lot more difficult. Rock Band 3 will require some brainwork, so let’s ‘Break On Through!’ By the way, get those free downloads: ‘Light My Fire,’ ‘Riders On the Storm’ and ‘Touch Me’ are all great keyboard songs. And look out for The Doors’ lost masterpiece, Live in Vancouver, when it releases Nov. 22!”

“At the outset of the Rock Band 3 project, we identified The Doors, with their powerful songs driven by intricately woven keyboard, guitar and drum parts, as an ideal partner for our game,” explained Paul DeGooyer, Senior Vice President of Music, Electronic Games and Programming for MTV Networks. “As they are also one of the greatest rock bands of all time, we are tremendously proud that they will be the first artist featured in the Rock Band 3 download store and that we’re able to bring this special offer of their music to everyone who buys Rock Band 3 the week it releases.”

Subsequent to the release of Rock Band 3, players can create their music collection for the title with the following The Doors compilations:

    Touch Me.
    Hello, I Love You.
    L. A. Woman.
    Love Her Madly.
    Love Me Two Times.
    Peace Frog.
    People are Strange.
    Roadhouse Blues.
    Soul Kitchen.

From amongst the above mentioned tracks, ‘Light My Fire’, ‘Riders on the Storm’ and ‘Touch Me’ will feature Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade downloads. Rock Band 3 owners can download these songs free-of-cost and play them online in the first week of the title’s launch. The other nine songs will be enveloped into a single pack for a separate release in the same week. All these tracks are said to include five-button guitar and bass, Drums, Pro Drums and Keys, Pro Keys and harmonies.

Starting November 2, 2010, these songs will be available for download on the Rock Band Music Store as well. Gamers can either purchase singles or the entire pack of 12 songs for their personal collection. Rock Band 3 is slated for an October 26, 2010 release in North America while gamers located in the rest of the world can lay their hands on the title starting October 29, 2010. Lastly, a two-disc set of the band’s unreleased live recordings will be unleashed on November 22, 2010 as The Doors – Live In Vancouver at estimated prices of 19.98 USD (approx. Rs. 882) in a CD format and 13.99 USD (approx. Rs. 617) for digital content.
