Gamers will have the opportunity to groove along their favorite Jimi Hendrix tunes as the album arrives next week.

“The success of our song downloads has afforded us the opportunity to approach Rock Band as an interactive music platform and reshape the way gamers think of expansion content,” explained Paul DeGooyer, Senior Vice President of Electronic Games, Music and Programming for MTV Networks. “Our commitment to weekly releases, disc export, forward compatibility of downloads and the launch of the Rock Band Network were milestones in the development of Rock Band’s vibrant digital business. Now, with the release of our 2,000th song, we are reaffirming our commitment to present new music every week – and with the new features in Rock Band 3, there will be more ways than ever to experience it.”

The launch of Rock Band 3 by the end of this month will increase the glory surrounding the game. Players can create their Rock Band 3 library with over 2000 songs through on-disc content, exported on-disc tracks from Rock Band, Lego Rock Band, AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Packs amongst others. In addition, the new chapter will boast of improved song sorting and a recommendation engine, allowing fans to save as well share setlists.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Are You Experienced, can be downloaded from the Rock Band Music Store for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii starting October 12, 2010. Whereas, Rock Band 3 is set for an October 26, 2010 release in North America while it will sail across to other parts of the world on October 29, 2010.
