The Beatles: Rock Band Scheduled for September 2009

All Beatles and Rock Band fans have something to “Shout” about. Apple Corps, MTV Games and Harmonix have set a September 9, 2009 release date for their new music-based videogame The Beatles: Rock Band. The game will release simultaneously in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other regions. The four boys from Liverpool will come to the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii consoles.

The Beatles: Rock Band takes fans on a magical journey as they experience The Beatles’ music first hand. Guitar, drums, bass and the mic can be used to rock out in the Rockers’ 60s style while witnessing the band’s illustrious career. As a bonus that any die-hard Beatle fan must have, new hardware equipment is available which is designed to resemble the instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

The Beatles: Rock Band will be compatible with any Rock Band instruments and peripherals. The game will be available as standalone hardware and software and also a Limited Edition Premium Bundle. So far only US prices have been announced with other region pricings yet to be decided. The Beatles: Rock Band software will cost 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,100), the standalone guitars will be priced at 99.99 USD (approx. Rs. 5,170) and the Limited Edition Premium Bundle will sell for 249.99 USD (approx. Rs. 12,920).

Developed by Harmonix and published by MTV Games, The Beatles: Rock Band has received full consent and support from Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono Lennon.
