Genshin Impact Makers Unveil New Game Titled Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero

As Genshin Impact enjoys immense popularity around the world, the studio responsible for it has revealed a new game that’s in the pipeline called Zenless Zone Zero. It is an action RPG that’s set in the last outpost of civilization following a world-ending calamity.

Signups for a closed beta of Zenless Zone Zero are already live, though we don’t know whether Genshin Impact’s cross-platform nature will be repeated by this game or not. The character-switching mechanic, which Genshin Impact is known for, will form part of this game as well.

Developer HoYoverse describes Zenless Zone Zero as an urban fantasy action RPG. Its story is set in a post-apocalyptic metropolitan city named New Eridu, which is the last remaining shelter for urban civilization.

According to the makers, this game has been created with a “futuristic art style, distinctive characters, and an exhilarating action-orientated combat system.” Players will assume the role of a “Proxy” as they head out with a diverse group of partners to conquer unknown enemies.

The story goes that Zenless Zone Zero’s world was destroyed by a supernatural disaster known as the “Hollows.” These are basically disordered dimensions that grow out of thin air and contain monsters called “Ethereals.” New Eridu has survived because it managed to acquire the technology to extract valuable resources out of the Hollows.

A roguelike gameplay mechanism also forms part of it apparently. With Genshin Impact still being among the most popular games in the world, it’s safe to say there are high hopes pinned on this title.
